The Village Tavern has occupied a corner of the Hammondsport village square since the 19th century. Under new ownership since 2023, the kitchen now runs a menu with New Orleans influence — beignets, étouffée, a rotating Gulf seafood pasta — alongside local staples. The inn above the restaurant has eight rooms. The 300-bottle wine list focuses on Finger Lakes producers. Outdoor patio seating faces the square. Open Thursday through Monday.
