Anthony Road Wine Company harvested its first vintage in 1989 and has been a west shore fixture ever since, situated ten miles south of Geneva just off Route 14. The Martini family focuses on dry vinifera wines that reflect the specific soils and climate of their Seneca Lake site. The tasting room is seated and unhurried, with curated flights ranging from $10 to $15 and local cheese and charcuterie available to order alongside. The on-site gallery rotates work from local artists and artisans on a monthly to bi-monthly basis, and a garden behind the property is worth the walk after your tasting. For groups of six or fewer, the owner-guided tour runs Sunday through Friday: 90 minutes through the crush pad, tank room, bottling line, and cellar, finishing in the gallery with five wines and a charcuterie plate at $50 per person. Outside on the patio and lawn, wine by the glass and small patio flights are first-come, first-served, and picnics from across the street at Sans Dumplings are welcome.
Don't miss: the owner-guided tour, which is one of the few opportunities on the Seneca Lake Wine Trail to walk through a working cellar with the family that built it.
