Swedish Hill Winery in Romulus is the most democratic entry point on the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail. Over 50 wines are available for tastings alongside hard cider, wine slushies, craft beer on tap, and grape juice for younger visitors. No reservation required; walk-in welcome. The on-site miniature donkey, Doobie, has his own following. The gift shop is extensive. Swedish Hill recently came under new ownership by the Martin Family, who also own Montezuma Winery next door. For first-time trail visitors or mixed groups with varying wine enthusiasm, Swedish Hill is the natural anchor for an approachable west-shore day.
