Stever Hill Vineyards produces small-lot estate wines from a hillside on the west shore near Branchport. The views look across the full width of the west arm toward Penn Yan. A fifth-generation family operation: Harold, Don, and Jim Stever manage the vineyards while Liz and Jay Sprague — both graduates of Cal Poly’s Wine and Viticulture program — handle tasting room and winemaking. The Crooked Barn tasting room dates to the 1850s. The portfolio spans dry through sweet styles; the chocolate and wine pairing flight is the signature experience.
