Seneca Lake State Park

The primary free public water access at Seneca Lake's north end, where the boat launches are state-maintained and the park runs year-round.

Ontario County

The Seneca Lake State Park sits at the foot of Geneva where the Seneca Outlet stream once drained the lake north into the Erie Canal system. The park occupies the flat ground between the city and the water: a groomed swimming beach, boat launch ramps, transient docking for overnight boaters, a picnic pavilion, and open lawn that is heavily used on summer weekends by Geneva residents. It is one of the few places along Seneca Lake's 38 miles where visitors without winery reservations or lodging on the water can simply sit at the edge of the lake and look at it. Free admission year-round. Parking lot off Lochland Road. The Smith Opera House and downtown Geneva are a ten-minute walk uphill.
