Red Newt Cellars winemaker David Whiting has been making Seneca east-shore Riesling since 1998 and was among the vocal early advocates for the Finger Lakes as a region capable of producing wines worth serious international attention. The bistro serves lunch seasonally from a menu that sources from the same neighboring farms that supply the Route 89 farm stands. Open daily in season on Route 414 in Hector. Don't miss the Circle of Hands Riesling, it's their collaboration with neighboring east-shore producers and the bottle that makes the clearest argument for the east shore as a unified terroir rather than a collection of individual properties.
