Owasco Bluffs Nature Preserve is the Finger Lakes Land Trust's first conservation area in the Owasco Lake watershed, formally opened to the public in October 2020. The 74 acres include forested bluffs, two restored seasonal wetlands, meadows, and a rugged gorge. A one-mile trail begins off Sam Adams Lane and ends at a wooded hillside bench with open views across the lake. Easy-to-moderate hike with yellow blazes. The property was purchased in 2018 from Dr. Joseph Karpinski, the Auburn oral surgeon whose foundation also underwrote part of the Ward O'Hara Agricultural Museum. Open daylight hours. Bow hunting permitted October through late December on sections away from the trail.
