O-Neh-Da Vineyard

The oldest sacramental winery in the New World, established 1872.

Livingston County

O-Neh-Da Vineyard was established in 1872 by Bishop Bernard McQuaid, Rochester's first bishop, to produce authentic sacramental wine for Catholic churches across the country. More than 150 years later, O-Neh-Da remains the oldest continuously operating sacramental winery in the New World, still supplying churches nationwide. The same operation produces Eagle Crest Vineyards wines for recreational tasting: small-batch table wines made from 100 percent Finger Lakes-grown grapes, ranging from dry whites to sweeter reds and the popular Midnight Moon. The vineyard sits on 6,684 acres above the western shore of Hemlock Lake, surrounded by Nature Conservancy land that is home to New York State's oldest bald eagle nesting site. The tasting room is open daily with hot grilled sandwiches, soups, cheeses, and chocolates. Glamping accommodations through FLX Glamping are available on the property. Don't miss: a tasting flight of the Eagle Crest wines, a grilled sandwich paired with a wine slushy, and a walk through the vineyard to the eagle nesting area.
