Deer Run Winery sits on Conesus Lake's west shore and covers three jobs at once: a tasting room, a kitchen running weekend brunch and lunch service, and a wedding venue. The wines run from dry reds to sweeter fruit blends; the Cherry Cocoa Cove is the one regulars name when asked what to try. The kitchen is the real surprise. Cheeseburger soup, a Swiss cheeseburger on a grilled hoagie, and a Sunday quiche that rotates weekly are typical offerings. The outdoor café is the place to eat on a warm afternoon. Wine slushy flights run in summer. Don't miss: Sunday brunch with a mimosa flight. Reservations strongly recommended on weekends.
