Bristol Mountain sits on the western ridge above Canandaigua Lake on Route 64 in South Bristol, ten miles southwest of the city. The resort's 1,200-foot vertical drop, rising from a 1,000-foot base to a 2,200-foot summit, gives it the highest vertical between the Adirondacks and the Rocky Mountains across the northeastern United States. The ski terrain covers 138 acres across 39 trails, distributed roughly 32 percent novice, 50 percent intermediate, and 18 percent advanced, with 97 to 100 percent snowmaking coverage. Fall chairlift rides are offered on the Comet Express lift during peak foliage season, providing a summit view across the full length of Canandaigua Lake that the shore roads do not replicate. Bristol Mountain also operates Roseland Waterpark and Roseland Wake Park on the valley floor below. Ski season runs December through March; fall ride dates vary by season.
