Atwater Vineyards occupies an estate on the elevated bluff in Burdett, where the east shore of Seneca Lake clusters its most closely spaced producers. The winery grows Riesling, Gewurztraminer, and Cabernet Franc on shale-rich soils, and the lake below shapes the growing season with a thermal mass that extends the fall and moderates the winters. The tasting room has panoramic lake views and operates at high volume during summer weekends, when the east shore loop draws its heaviest traffic. Open daily May through October.
