Dundee sits on the west shore roughly mid-lake, quieter than the Watkins Glen corridor below and less trafficked than the Geneva approaches above. Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyard is here, one of the benchmark producers on the entire trail, recognized by Wine & Spirits Magazine as one of the world's Top 100 Wineries. Glenora Wine Cellars, the first winery established on Seneca Lake, is a mile south of the village with an inn and restaurant overlooking the water. Dundee itself is a small agricultural town without wine-trail branding. That is the reason to stop.
